Meet Alivia Duyn-

This young woman is filled with energy, excitement and appreciation. Alivia moved to Bend last year without knowing exactly where she’d land, but ended up exactly where she needed to be. Embraced by our amazing community, she's grateful to now call Bend home.

Over the last several years, Alivia has developed a growing passion for health and wellness. She is currently pursuing an education in Eastern medicine, with the goal of becoming a personal guide for people to heal themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. “I believe in creating a healthy, harmonious balance between the mind and body in order to be and feel your best,” she says. There is no doubt that Alivia is actively pursuing her dreams and that the local Acro Yoga community in Bend is helping her accomplish that goal. “I get a lot of motivation and support from my community. Most of my friends are Yoga teachers, students or athletes of some sort.”

Alivia is enchanted with Bend’s four-season offerings. When she’s not practicing yoga or self-development, you’ll likely find Alivia at Shevlin Park, her go-to retreat.

When asked about what she wants for the community, she states, “I want to see Bend become even more supportive of our local farming community, and I’d like to see more educational programs that promote the benefits of local responsible agriculture.”

Her advice for newcomers to Bend is simple yet profound: “There are connections that can be made everywhere in Bend. Speak up, reach out and find your own special community. Meet as many people as you can and know that you have something special to offer the community and it will return the favor.
