Crystal moved to Bend in the early 1980s, and longed for the big city as so many young people growing up in small towns do. However, Bend’s meteoric growth over the past decade has renewed her love of the place she’s called home since she was an infant. “As an adult I’ve had a love affair with this city and she has stolen my heart.”
The regular schedule of festivals complements her passion for Bend’s craft beer scene. “The energy is palpable and the people here love their city!” On any given day just a short walk brings Crystal to ten breweries. Any favorites? “Do I to choose just one?”
While she is not a winter person, the high desert climate still captivates her. “What gets me out of bed in the morning is sunshine!” Three hundred days of it a year meet her standards, and “Central Oregon summers are epic!” When summer returns, Crystal can be found floating the Deschutes River and partaking of the fresh air and hiking trails with her kids.
“I am so grateful to get to raise my babies here, and I want them to be as excited about ‘Bend life’ as I am.” They will certainly share their mom’s enthusiasm for “gawking at the most spectacular sunsets sweeping across the Cascade Mountains. I want them to witness the inspiration for creativity that surrounds us everywhere in this most epic place.”
As a member of the small-business community, Crystal appreciates the variety of employment options that don’t involve corporate attire. “We all know getting to live here comes with a price, so I would just love to see more local entrepreneurs following their passions and creating amazing opportunities for members of our community.” If you'd like to learn more about Crystal you can visit her website. www.chaseyoursunrise.com
Aside from longer summers, there’s just one thing keeping Bend from being a true paradise…” A good vegan restaurant. Why does Portland get to have them all?”
